Avoiding Scams
|
|
With any useful serivce comes those few that will try to take advantage. Please be wary of people with less than admirable intentions.
|
1. Measures LocalAdPages.com has taken:
|
- We maintain a black list of email addresses and ip addresses.
Anyone attempting to contact through LocalAdPages.com will be stopped (and notified of why) if they're on the blacklist.
Anyone on the black list will not be allowed to post items on our system.
- If you would like to report a scam, please use the contact page, or you can optionally flag any posting by using the "Flag this post" button.

2. To avoid scams, follow these guidelines:

- Deal locally when ever possible
- Never wire funds
- Watch our for fake cashiers checks
- Chose the "Hide my email from others" contact option. We can only prohibit black listed users from contacting you if you select this contact option.
It can be selected on the content page when you're posting your items.
If you chose any other means of contact, our black list is not referenced and therefore becomes irrelevant and of no value.

3. Who should be notified of scams or fraudulent activity?
|
- Pleaes notifiy us (LocalAdPages.com) if you detect anything suspicious.
Depending on the nature of the activity, users may not be put on the black list until a few complaints are made (to avoid false positives). If it's an obvious scam, they will be black listed immediately. To notify us, please use the contact page, or you can optionally flag any posting by using the "Flag this post" button.
- Use a service like RapLeaf.com to rate (positive or negative for that matter) your interactions with someone else.
- FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)
- FTC online complaint form (www.ftc.gov)
- Canadian PhoneBusters hotline: 888-495-8501
- Internet Fraud Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov/)
- Non-emergency number for your local police department.

2. What is the final asking prize you can go at last?
3 Will you let our shipping company to come to you house fo r the pick up of the item cos we don't want you to worry yourself about the shipping of the item.
4 You are to send your NAME,ADDRESS,TEL # to mail out the payment today.
5. Will you be able to send the excess fund back to the shipping company via western union money transfer same day you recieve and cash the check for the arengement of the home pick up from your house down to my client.
